Discover What 2012 Holds for You

What is going to happen in 2012? This is probably one of the most intriguing questions among people who are on their spiritual quest, and it is always closely associated with the mystic Mayan Civilization.

The ancient Mayans were famous for their impeccable knowledge of astronomy and mathematics. They had ingeniously created a unique vigesimal (base-20) numeral system, and their astronomic achievements were so advanced that they had accurately calculated movement of planets in such accuracy that doesn't differ much from today's computer calculations. Their Long Count calendar had recorded and miraculously predicted many world events that occurred in human history, such as the last Ice Age. But astonishingly, the prophetic Mayan Long Count cannot foretell events that go beyond the end of December 2012, only a few years from now! The clock is ticking and speculations are arising, overshadowing the unknown future.

Facing the unknown, it is most helpful to view the subject from various angles with an open mind. There are many wonderful spiritual books available that shed light on this fascinating subject of 2012. To my delight, I have stumbled across an inspiring and non-spiritual book titled "Maya Prophecy, Discover what 2012 holds for you", written by Dr. Ronald Bonewitz. It is an informative little paperback that shows and reviews how the historical events, religious beliefs and rituals, astronomic knowledge, numeral systems and calendars are interwoven with Mayan culture and are based on historical and archaeological studies.

Bonewitz raises and answers questions such as, "What if the commonly known Maya Prophecy is not originated from the ancient Mayans?" or "What if the Maya day began at sunset instead of sunrise, and night is more sacred than day?" or "What if the Maya Long Count calendar was used to measure time and cycles of recurring events for analysis, hence prediction of the relationships and repeated patterns in these cycles?"

The book has not only presented new and fascinating information, it has also taken me by surprise to find well constructed exercises, both spiritual and practical, such as the "Pyramid Visualisations", helping you to connect with the deep inner Self, and to achieve self-realisation, using a practical approach to map the cycles and patterns in one's life.

With the year 2012 approaching, an increasing and noticeable amount of cosmic energy shifts are occurring, sending higher and higher frequencies of light through the atmosphere, stirring up energy that no longer serves our highest good, clearing our existence in the inner and outer world.

It could be a rough ride for many of us in this transitional period of time toward uncertainty. However, uncertainty is an opportunity for creation. We are now in the beginning of a new cycle of growth, starting from 2009, which will continue beyond 2012. It is a seeding stage, preparing us for a new cycle of life to come through, which will grow and unfold. The Maya Long Count calendar cannot calculate beyond the end of 2012, which offers us the great occasion to consciously make our choice to break the patterns of the recurring cycles and finally liberate ourselves from the limitation, created by past experiences.

NOW, this precious moment, is a unique opportunity to make a change in the mass consciousness, and for each one of us to help co-create an unknown future that is filled with greatness, positiveness and wellness, acting on kindness and forgiveness.
