Nurturing Mind, Body and Spirit More and more people are searching for answers and taking responsibility for their own health and happiness. Therefore, White Lotus Centre has recently opened its doors in the heart of Central on Lyndhurst Terrace, offering people new techniques and therapies to treat the whole being, including mind, body and spirit. The new centre was founded by Liz Purnell-Webb and Katia Geiger, who are both Holistic Massage therapists. “We saw a gap in the market in Hong Kong for a centre of wellbeing in the true sense of the word,” says Purnell-Webb. “Hong Kong has a wide choice of spas, as well as ‘new age’ centres which offer alternative therapies. However, there wasn’t anywhere you could go to be truly treated as a whole. Our practitioners work together and refer clients on to their colleagues for complimentary therapies and treatments, instead of simply looking at the problem in isolation.” “Our goal is to demystify holistic therapies and techniques and show clients how effective they can be,” adds Geiger. “Therapies using essential oils, massage techniques and plant extracts have been used for centuries, and all we are doing is taking a modern approach to apply their benefits to life now.” The centre consists of a number of trained resident practitioners, offering everything from Aromatherapy Massage and Reflexology to Craniosacral Therapy, Homeopathy, Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Acupuncture, as well as Yoga and Pilates. Furthermore, they offer a number of services for mothers, moms to be and their little ones, such as Breast Feeding Counseling, Hypnobirthing, Breathing Classes, Infant Massage, Baby Reflexology and Yoga for Kids to name a few. In 2012 there will also be various training courses on offer, including professional diplomas in natural therapies and certificates for shorter workshops in a variety of subjects.
