Enhance Your Luck with Make-up

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Appearances can be deceptive and illusive, as time will eventually wash them away, yet not a single soul can deny the secret that lies buried alive in every woman’s mind – to be beautiful.

Cosmetics don’t have to be superficial though. Make-up mixed with Fengshui brings depth to one’s façade and is known to enhance one’s luck too.

Shoko, the charismatic beauty consultant and designer from Kyoto, takes the ancient traditions and skills of Feng Shui and applies them to the fashionable world of make-up. She is not only the first image consultant in Asia to marry the two, but she also brings out the best in every individual based on birthdates, face readings and Feng Shui.

In Shoko's eyes everyone has their own charm, and everyone is beautiful. She believes that every single person has beautiful and exclusive fine natural features to elicit the most positive energy and stunning portrait.

Sakura (cherry blossom), a nostalgic symbol of ephemeral beauty for life, inspires Shoko to think of beauty as the utmost form of one’s personal symbol. After years of working as an ordinary office girl, Shoko has followed her heart and taken up a rather special role in helping others to realize how beauty can transform their lives, including love, career, money and health, not only on a skin-deep level, but also deep from within.

Recently she developed the world’s first Feng Shui eyeshadow kit called Sai=En (colourful luck in Japanese). “I noticed many girls have issues in various aspects of life, and they have rather low self-esteem,” says Shoko. “Then the muse knocked on my door saying, ‘If there is a service or a product that intertwines the magic of beauty and luck, every woman would become a luck charm herself!’ That was how I grasped the opportunity and developed a new concept in make-up and fashion, building on my personal networks with Hollywood and celebrity make-up gurus in Asia.”

According to Shoko, the concept of using make-up to attract luck cannot be simpler. “It has always been a woman's dream to become prettier and luckier,” she says. “By using the prism of Fengshui, your true inborn energy and luck will maximize for all times. You become the good luck charm. The reason why Sai=En focuses on eyes is because eyes will gather a precise database derived from what is created through your subconscious mind which will help transfer them into conscious reality.

“The Octagon make-up case is to display the basic shape of Feng Shui. Commercial ones usually come in a gradation of colour; but mine is a Feng Shui eyeshadow compact, and its four colours include blue, purple, green and gold, representing the elements of water, fire, wind and earth. The mirror just fits in perfectly with the metal element to create a harmonic balance. It comes with a ‘make a wish sticker’ for ladies to write their wishes on and to stick on the mirror. Read your wish every time you use the make-up, and place it in the southern part of your home when you are not using it. It will energize and draw in good luck.”

Shoko swears by her alchemical magic eyeshadow kit. “Sai=En’s energy is calculated to create balance,” she ads. “It also activates the subconscious mind, and it is stimulated by the energy input from Mount Fuji. Produced by one of the finest cosmetics companies in Japan, Millot Cosmetic Corporation, my product is blessed with pure mountain energy from Mount Fuji where the factory is located.”

Shoko is not only a Feng Shui make-up artist, but also an image consultant and a professional tarot reader. During her last stay in Hong Kong, Shoko presented her astrology-themed fashion show on top of a luck make-up demonstration. Shoko believes that an ideal woman should possess a balance of inner and external beauty, and people who have met Shoko will certainly agree that she combines perseverance with a beautiful heart; as above so below; as within, so without.

Shoko will hold an event on September 27 at a holistic market in Osaka and will travel to Hong Kong and Singapore early next year.
