Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve Nestled in the midst of nature, the new Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Phulay Bay is the perfect escape for someone who doesn't want to miss out on luxury, yet opts for something more ecologically friendly. The Ritz-Carlton introduces its new brand extension, The Reserve, later this year (September) with its first hotel in Krabi, Southern Thailand. Set on the shores of the Andaman Sea against the lush green backdrop, the tastefully designed Reserve is a hideaway boutique hotel with 54 villas and pavilions, offering its guests picturesque views of the towering limestone karsts. Surrounded by sandy beaches, a national forest, rugged rock formations and hidden waterfalls, the unique setting is a natural sanctuary where the design is completely unintrusive and tied to the natural surroundings of the location. Conscious of the abundant surrounding natural beauty, the Reserve enchants its guests with the stunning scenery in the environment of the resort, as well as inside the suites, reflecting Thai history and culture through décor and design. The hotel is the vision of leading Thai architect Lek Bunnag, who fused modern styling with luxury and tradition. Thai paintings and artworks grace the walls of the villas, and natural Thai silk and other sourced local and sustainable materials are used for furnishings to draw on cultural heritage. The resort offers guests to retreat from their urban city life during their stay, giving them a sense of privacy to reconnect with nature through the natural scenery of unspoilt ocean views, outdoor baths and showers set among indigenous flora. The spa, ESPA, which is comprised of Thai pavilions, is a haven for relaxation and tranquillity, surrounded by ponds and the environment of existing trees and plants. But it wouldn't be a Ritz-Carlton hotel without the personalized service. Guests can tailor make their visit to suit their needs and desires and can come up with their own individual ideas to make the visit unforgettable. Remote picknicking, meditation classes with local monks and BBQ lunches in a special area of the resort can all be arranged. At Phulay Bay guests can also try local fish and seafood at the resort's outdoor seafood grill, Lae Lay, overlooking the Andaman Sea, or they can enjoy signature local Thai cuisine at restaurant Sri Trang, which can also be learnt during cooking classes. The Ritz-Carlton eco-experience encompasses every area and action throughout the entire visit, relying on the past and tradition to create something sustainable for the future.
