Chaumet Creates Bee Jewellery As Albert Einstein once famously said, “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left”. Since bees are a vital link within our food chain and the bee population has been declining over the past ten years, Chaumet has teamed up with the Terre d’Abeilles association to protect bees and nurture hives, creating a campaign for a UNESCO world heritage status for the Black Bee (Apis mellifera mellifera). Chaumet, jeweller to Emperor Napoleon the First, has a long history with the bee symbol, an emblem of power. Napoleon the First would wear it as a jewel on a clasp to hold his travel cape.
The rings, bracelets, ear studs and necklaces include precious citrine, amethyst or pink opal bees with possible diamond encrusted wings, on white, pink and yellow gold. Chaumet, Shop For more information regarding Terre d’Abeilles, go to www.sauvonslesabeilles.com
