Celebs Request their Own Made-To-Order Accessories Louis Vuitton has commissioned six celebrities to design special one-of-a-kind accessories to be auctioned off at Sotheby’s to celebrate 150 years of the label’s Asnieres division, where master craftsmen create made-to-order luggage. The auctioned pieces will benefit another 150-year-old institution, the Red Cross. Among the chosen celebs are star-photographer Annie Leibovitz, artist Damien Hurst, elBulli chef Ferran Adria, musician Gustavo Santaolalla, member of the 5th generation of the Vuitton family Patrick-Louis Vuitton, as well as creative director Marc Jacobs.
Leibovitz’s monogram canvas backpack is lined with red cushioned microfiber compartments for her photo equipment.
Jacobs requested a trunk with a wired door and large vents for his bull terriers to sleep in on the plane.
The six special orders, including a Louis Vuitton Red Cross kit with red and grey aluminium medicine boxes, will be auctioned off on November 17. Proceeds will go to the Red Cross Nigerian Fight Against Malnutrition Programme.

Hirst’s two trunks feature slim drawers with compartments for surgical instruments. The leather has been printed with an array of butterflies, which have been individually placed by Hirst himself. Two silver skulls are encrusted in each of the inside of the lids.
